Job Introduction:

We are actively seeking to recruit enthusiastic, hard working individuals in the role of Domestic Assistants to join our team to be based in Huntigdon to work Monday to Friday 17:00 to 20:00.

This role and contract sits within our Facilities Management sector of G4S where we aim to improve the lives of people across the UK and Ireland by creating productive, safe and smooth working environments. Role Responsibility:

The main responsibilities that this role will involve are the following;

General

  • On arrival, to report for duty in full uniform for the normal work routines
  • Ensure all necessary equipment is collected before starting work
  • Work safely at all times giving due consideration to themselves and others
  • Must use the appropriate work equipment and PPE provided and report safety deficiencies to Site Supervisor
  • Carry out all related duties as may be allocated by the Supervisor
  • Check equipment for faults and notify the Site Supervisor
  • Report any maintenance required to the Site Supervisor
  • Ensure strict confidentiality concerning patients and their visitors
  • At the end of each shift, store all equipment used in the appropriate storage
  • Report any accident or theft immediately to the Site Supervisor
  • Attend both internal and external training courses as required
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by Management
  • Keep minor records as instructed by Site Supervisor
  • To ensure strict adherence to all policies and procedures  in relation to food hygiene paying particular attention to personal hygiene requirements
  • Ensure that the Trust 's procedures and policies  are adhered to

Cleaning Duties

  • To carry out all cleaning assigned, making full use of guidance and training given, using checklists provided
  • Managing cleaning schedule in the light of patient and Ward activities
  • Use all materials and consumables in accordance with laid down practices ensuring the economic use of resources
  • Check and observe cleaning to be carried out in accordance with schedule
  • Undertake manual and mechanical cleaning activities in accordance with the cleaning schedule
  • Comply with methods of cleaning required for areas
  • Ensure that all cleaning schedules are completed and checked on a daily basis, including
    • Vacuuming, damp mopping and polishing floors
    • Damp dusting furniture and fittings
    • Cleaning of toilets and bathrooms
    • Cleaning of sluice rooms
    • High and low dusting
    • Attention to public areas throughout shift
  • Collection, segregation and disposal of waste materials, replacement of liners, in accordance with policies
  • Refilling of all dispensers including soap, hand towels, toilet rolls and all paper rolls
  • Provide emergency and ad hoc cleaning as required
  • Cleaning in close proximity to patients including beds, windows, curtain rails, window ledges, tables and lockers
  • Ensure all equipment is cleaned and correctly stored after use
  • If required, collection and deliver of laundry to the site
  • If required, assist in changing curtains as part of Terminal cleans
  • Removal of marks, stains and dirt from walls in a number of patient areas
