About Us

G4S Community Contracts in Wales are a key provider of criminal justice services - operating across the community and custodial sectors.  We pride ourselves on the quality of our provision and we consistently seek to work alongside and in partnership with a range of other providers in the voluntary (third), public and private sectors.

We have developed services which are focused on identifying ways to maximise positive impact on individuals and communities by making the most effective use of available resources and by working with other agencies on common objectives across the criminal justice system. This approach can be seen in our early intervention work with Police, our support to HMPPS across communities and prisons and in our developing solutions with others to both complex criminal justice and substance use related challenges.

We have a commitment to the research and evaluation of services and to the application of evidence based principles for the development of new initiatives.

We pride ourselves on working with others in the Criminal Justice System and social care sector to both deliver and develop services.  We work with passion and drive to bring innovation to service delivery and to support partners and commissioners in bringing momentum for change, ideas and integration opportunities, best practice and value for money initiatives in services which address offending behaviour.

The role

The Director will provide critical leadership and future direction to the G4S Community Contracts across Wales – managing a number of different contracts, widely dispersed geographically and broadly focussed on the diversion, recovery and rehabilitation of people involved in the criminal justice system.

With a diverse range of customers (commissioners) the role requires high level strategic and planning activity that is solutions focussed and open minded in the support of the goals of statutory funding bodies as well as Welsh Government and Local Authorities.

You will require strong knowledge of the criminal justice rehabilitation/social care sector.  The role provides operational support, advice and direction to the Service management team, ensuring consistent high quality provision within agreed contractual, commercial and financial parameters.

In addition, the identification of growth and development opportunities for the business is a key element of the role as well as directing and preparing bid submissions and working closely with colleagues in delivering the wider organisational vision and requirements.

The Ideal Candidate:

About You

The successful candidate must have relevant leadership experience within a criminal justice/social care setting.

You need to be passionate, innovative, driven and have a vision of how to lead and maintain business excellence.  We are looking for a leader who maintains and develops our transparent and collaborative way of working to engender openness, trust and inclusion with partners, staff and commissioning bodies.

To succeed in this role, you will be a dynamic and engaging individual, who shares our values and is eager to implement a strategy for the future. A proven senior leader with a passion for making a difference, you will inspire joint (interagency) working for the benefit of communities and individuals and will lead in consortium based approaches as well as on specific G4S initiatives.

Please note that applicants must complete a 500 - 700 word statement outlining their suitability for this role and clearly outlining how your skills, experience and knowledge would apply to this post. If you would like a copy of the full job description to assist you with this then please email careersatg4s@uk.g4s.com and we will forward a copy to you.

You must be eligible to work in the UK and must have been resident in the UK for a minimum period of 3 years.
