Role Responsibility:

Day to day responsibilities of the Digital Channel Specialist include:

Working with G4S and Allied Universal colleagues worldwide and external agencies to ensure the most appropriate use of our digital channels based on digital insight.

Channel Development (50%)

Continue to develop and maintain a best in class web estate in line with:

  • business needs
  • digital communications best practice
  • trends and developments in digital usage
  • advances in technology
  • design best practice and G4S brand guidelines


This includes:

  • programme management of website developments using agile methodologies to deliver improvements across 85+ websites
  • working with the business and our web development partners to prioritize and schedule key development needs
  • working with the wider business to identify opportunities to optimize user experience
  • work with our SEO and user experience partners to drive channel improvements in line with business needs
  • day to day management of G4S ltd and UK websites
  • support the international marketing team and local marketing teams with lead generating campaigns


Stakeholder and web editor community management and training (20%)

Working with G4S and Allied Universal colleagues worldwide and external agencies to ensure the most appropriate use of our digital channels based on digital insight.

To provide training and support, as required, to website editors and provide guidance on content preparation and best practice.

To continue to develop and engage our digital editors in order to:

  • embed governance models across our channels
  • provide training and support
  • provide best practice guidance and advice on channel usage and content provision


To work with the local marketing teams, communications teams and other content owners to ensure content remains relevant, dynamic and up to date and communicate key business messages to relevant audience groups.

Channel governance (10%)
To support the development, implementation and maintenance of standards across the group’s digital communications channels to ensure quality control of the content, and compliance with global standards and corporate identity guidelines

  • To review and analyse feedback and site metrics for SEO, usability and accessibility on an ongoing basis
  • Working with G4S colleagues and external agencies to implement and maintain an appropriate level of security standards to protect the group’s digital communications channels from cyber-attack or major failure

Analysis and reporting activities (20%)

  • Ensuring a consistent global platform of analytics across all channels including:
    • Maintenance and administration of Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager accounts; managing filters, goals and tagging
    • Identify ways in which to improve analytical procedure
  • To set and agree measurement frameworks and KPIs for our online channels and to assess performance and delivery against these
  • To own and deliver regular digital analytics reports for both business reporting to key stakeholders and technical reporting to channel owners
  • Ad hoc reporting and insights as required based on business requirements plus deep dive analysis around key projects and campaign

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate for the Digital Specialist role will have the following experience:

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar digital or analytical role
  • Experience of using content management systems
  • Good understanding of digital best practice including digital quality management, architecture, UX and design
  • Experience of using analytical packages including Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Google Search Console, with an understanding of key digital metrics for online channels
  • Digital marketing skills including SEO, email marketing and A/B testing tools considered an advantage
  • Experience of web project management considered an advantage
  • Good writing, presenting and editorial skills
  • Ideally experience working in an international context
  • Flexibility and willingness to support wider marketing and or ad-hoc projects

The ideal candidate for the Digital Channel Specialist will have the following skills:

  • You’ll be a motivated, enthusiastic and collaborative team player with a flexible personality, you will like challenges and be open to new ideas


Please note, this role does not qualify for a visa under the current Government guidelines therefore to be considered for this role you must already have the right to work in the UK. Re-location costs will not be granted. You must live in reasonable commuting distance of the site.


The successful candidate will be required to provide original documentation for detailed screening and vetting processes. These documents may include your passport, drivers license, utility bill (dated in the last 3 months), HMRC letter, an original bank statement, an original payslip, your birth certificate, a valid share code.
