Churchill Hospital is a centre of excellence for cancer services and other specialties, including renal services and transplants, clinical and medical oncology, dermatology, haemophilia, chest medicine and palliative care. 


We have an opportunity for an experienced Deputy Soft Services Manager to join our team based at Churchill Hospital.


As Deputy Soft Services Manager you will drive the operational delivery of the soft services on the Churchill Hospital account. Ensuring through the Domestic Team Leaders, that the service delivery throughout the 24/7 operations, achieves the required quality standards on a consistent basis.


Key Responsibilities will include:


  • Deliver and drive the performance of the G4S self audit programme to required standards and volume and attend and manage the Trust verification audit programme

  • Conduct safety and performance site tours to assess performance and find areas for improvement

  • Engage with Trust Management and Clinical teams to build effective operational relationships 

  • Engage with other stakeholders, including OSL, as required

  • Anticipate and address any performance related operational issues that may arise to ensure achievement of KPI/SLAs

  • Support the Shift Leaders with any people performance related issues

  • Drive innovation and quality improvement across the soft services delivery

  • Undertake recruitment to ensure teams are effectively resourced on all shifts

  • Ensure effective CoSHH management plan is in place and effectiveness regularly reviewed

  • Overseeing the delivery of any training needs

  • Strong understanding of Audit processes 

  • Good People management skills

  • Good understanding of Systems/ processes

  • Leadership skills

  • Good Communication skills
