Churchill Hospital is a centre of excellence for cancer services and other specialties, including renal services and transplants, clinical and medical oncology, dermatology, haemophilia, chest medicine and palliative care. 

In 2009 the hospital saw a major new development consisting of an integrated cancer and haematology Centre, a surgery and diagnostics centre and the Wytham Wing – housing the Wytham Ward (transplants) and private outpatients. 

 

G4S FM delivers the following services and employs circa 200 staff: Helpdesk, Patient and Retail Catering, Cleaning, Portering, Planned and Reactive Maintenance, Lifecycle Replacement, Grounds Maintenance and Pest Control.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Deputy Soft Services Manager to join our team based at Churchill Hospital.

 

As Deputy Soft Services Manager you will be supporting the Soft Services Manager to deliver a profitable, efficient and safe operation for cleaning, catering, and portering service within the Churchill contract.

 

Key Responsibilities will include:

 

  • Manage daily, weekly, monthly routines to review and action service failure points or opportunities for improvement.

  • Provide management and direction to the Soft FM team by promoting best business practices

  • Ensure actions are followed up, processes followed and standards upheld

  • Attend all contractually agreed and performance enhancing meetings for the role

  • Review stock levels for all Soft FM functions. Implement processes to reduce inventory but ensure no Service failure points can occur

  • Measure and review performance of catering sub-contractor

  • Conduct sub-contractor contractual reviews to improve value / performance

  • Conduct safety & performance walks to assess performance

  • Create and submit reports as requested to client and G4S

  • Be aware of national standard changes or technology improvements that can impact the site both positively (cost reduction) and unfavorably (drive price uplift negotiations)

  • Responsible for the leadership of all employees including effective resource management, recruitment, induction, PDRs, development, coaching and performance management


The Ideal Candidate:

 

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience as a Soft FM at senior level (preferably within a similar environment)

  • A thorough knowledge of HACCP, National Cleaning Standards, and BICS regulations.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Proven background within the delivery of soft facilities services on a large client

  • Ability to communicate at all levels in an appropriate manner

  • Proven skills in building strong relationships with customers and managing their expectations
