Role Responsibility:

With our extensive history, here at G4S Cash Solutions, we have the expertise in technology, security and keeping money safe. We handle the majority of the cash that goes through the UK’s banks, and a third of the UK’s total cash spend. From SME’s to national coffee chains we collect and process cash for over 4,500 businesses of every size in the UK. This makes us the largest cash collection and processing organisation in the UK.


This is an exciting time for the business as we use our innovation and branch out into a new service offering for our customers. We currently have a number of opportunities for a Customer Assistant to join our team and be part of our continued success. As a Customer Assistant you will form part of our new service offering which is a mixture of face to face customer interaction as well as working behind the scenes processing and supply of notes and coin to fulfil customer requirements in real time. Due to the nature of the industry in which we operate, you will need to be confident working the stringent procedures within a highly regulated environment as well as being extremely customer focussed and security conscious.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Working in a team of two in a purpose built hub
  • Meeting and greeting customers and helping them to use the machines
  • Ensuring that all operating and security procedures and constantly adhered to
  • Utilising a variety of cash management systems
  • Performing basic maintenance and trouble shooting on machines, e.g. changing receipt rolls in machines and arranging for Engineers to attend site if machines break down
  • Replenishment of cash and coin into machines as and when required
  • Ensuring all necessary paperwork and / or entries is completed accurately
  • Check the integrity of customers deposits
  • Observing all Health & Safety requirements whilst within the facility
  • Splitting deposited cheques, complete relevant paperwork and send to relevant processing hub


The Ideal Candidate:

  • You will need to be confident communicating with customers face to face
  • You will be confident and comfortable work by self and being security conscious
  • An appropriate level of numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail
  • You enjoy having a real mix of duties and be able to appropriate plan and prioritise your working activities
  • Happy to work under monitored security cameras
  • Confident in following specific procedures and instructions as well as making decisions during your day
  • Good IT skills and the ability to carry out basic maintenance on machines
  • You must be continuously focused on providing an exemplary service to the customers who use the facility by being efficient, flexible, professional, helpful and respectful and at all times and security conscious

We will invest in you and provide you with a range of training which will be crucial for your success in this role:

  • Customer Service and Conflict resolution training
  •  Basic First Aid Training
  •  In depth training on the cash management systems / machines
  •  Security awareness
  •  We also have some specific security criteria that you will need to meet:
  •  You must be able to pass a criminal record check as well as a personal credit and ID check
  •  You must also have a 5 year employment/unemployment/educational history that we can check and verify
  •  You will need to be comfortable to work under monitored security cameras and working by self in a secure, confined and highly regulated environment
