Job Introduction:

G4S Custodial Services Pty Ltd operates Port Phillip Prison on behalf of Corrections Victoria. The 1100 + bed maximum security men's prison is located at Truganina. We recently celebrated our 20 year anniversary of continuous service delivery at Port Phillip Prison, and have commenced our tenure into the next 20 year contract.

We currently have a number of opportunities for individuals to join our upcoming Correctional Officer course due to commence in February 2019.

Role Responsibility:

The role of a Correctional officer is varied and challenging, just some of the duties include;

  • Maintaining the safety, security and good order of the prison, all staff, partners, visitors, prisoners and the facility itself
  • Supervision of prisoners
  • Participating in case management
  • Managing inductions and transfers of prisoners
  • Assisting and supervising visitations
  • Writing comprehensive reports all whilst continually upholding the safety and security of all persons within and the prison itself
