We have a fantastic opportunity for a Company Accountant to join the team at our Regional Office in Worksop. The role is a full time, permanent, 40 hours, Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will report to the Finance Manager and will be responsible for delivering financial accounting support services to Group. You will act as a focal point for G4S Ltd accounting and reporting and provide information to the statutory accounting team to facilitate the production of statutory accounts and tax returns. Role Responsibility:

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Act as the focal point for G4S Ltd accounting and reporting.
  • Provide information to the Statutory accounting team to facilitate the production of statutory accounts and tax returns.

           o            G4S Ltd

           o            Finance Companies.

  • Administer the group Tax intercompany licence fee spreadsheet and ensure that timely and accurate charges are raised consistent with the spreadsheet output.
  • Work with the multicurrency invoicing process and ensure monthly revaluation is captured correctly.
  • Manage the accounting aspect of the group’s substantial inter-company loan portfolio.
  • Work with Group Treasury to produce interest p&l and cash flow budgets and forecasts for the Finance Companies and input into the Group Accounting system – BPC.
  • Assist Treasury with actual vs budget variance analysis emanating from the finance companies’ activities.
  • Produce quarterly investment summaries by currency for two of the group’s holding companies and work with Treasury to complete the associated fx matching process.
  • Ensure withholding tax arising from intercompany charging is correctly accounted for.
  • Ensure that reporting requirements and submissions are accurate and adhere to agreed timelines (i.e. National statistics, insurance data, cash flow forecasting).
  • Ensure Balance Sheet and Bank reconciliations are completed to agreed timescales.

The Ideal Candidate:

Formal Education


  • A qualified accountant with previous experience.
  • Strong technical ability and a competent understanding of UK and IFRS GAAP


Treasury transactional and disclosure accounting, inter-group settlement, dividends and the accounting impact of disposals, acquisitions and subsidiary restructuring.

Knowledge of SAP, BPC and/or other Finance systems.

  • Excellent communication skills, must be able to effectively communicate across all levels of the business to resolve issues and improve processes relating to the Financial Accounting team.
  • Should possess the drive to deliver a high-quality service in order to meet agreed service levels. 
  • Ability to problem solve escalations relating to the production of accounts whilst looking at the wider business impacts and opportunities for process improvements. 
  • Ensure fundamental issues are addressed to avoid repeat occurrences.
  • Must be willing to help, support and encourage other accountants and offer developmental coaching and assistance.
