As a Command Center Team Manager, you will serve as a critical support link between customers, the client, coworkers, vendors, and the general public. The Team Manager is responsible for the management of the command center team, its compliance to processes and procedures, as well as its alignment to emerging threats and global incidents. Managers must also be familiar with multiple platforms to include web based solutions, phone, email, radio, etc. Personnel will support planning and performance of the center day to day operations, long term strategic planning and crisis events. The Manager must be actively engaged in all facets of the business. The Team Manager position provides onsite leadership in support of all processes to ensure the protection of client employees, plant and property, proprietary information, reputation and brand, and regulatory compliance. This position will provide direction and guidance within and between units of facility management, and manage and implement delegated global processes within the facility operations.

This position requires schedule flexibility. Candidates must be willing to work 2nd and 3rd shifts, weekends, and holidays as necessary. In the event of an emergency, personnel may be required to stay past the end of your shift to assist with the emergency or write incident reports. On call work is required.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Provide direction, and instruction to subordinates regarding the performance of their duties
  • Interviewing, selection, and placement of new hires; oversee professional development of team members
  • Monitor and maintain records of Operators and supervisors required pre-site assignment training, on-site training and annual training; tracking and providing status reports of Operator/supervisor training expiration dates
  • Responsible for the 24-hour/7-day management of the Command Center team, and its compliance to processes and procedures
  • Ensure the command center team is aligned to efficiently respond to emerging threats and global incidents; manage the delivery and execution of monitoring processes which are defined within the service provider contract which includes developing, implementing, monitoring and upgrading processes in line with the identified business risks, documented SLA’s, and the Global Security RBSP
  • Respond to requests for support in a timely manner
  • Monitor and maintain all forms of communication, accurately document changes to projects and communicate changes to impacted personnel in a constantly changing environment often under pressure and tight deadlines; monitor daily the content and quality of reports prepared by personnel and provides guidance as necessary; assure proper distribution of all reports
  • Identify and escalate issues to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner using appropriate means; provide technical guidance within and between units and other teams; gather relevant information, compare and contrast data, identify relationships, and predict and manage failures 
  • Constantly evaluate equipment and platforms to identify issues, correct minor problems, and elevate concerns local G4S offices, coworkers, vendors, management, and/or customers
  • Frame critical issues correctly and identify resolutions that will help protect the client, the company, and personnel
  • Ensure all baseline hours are scheduled and worked; review and audit weekly the billing of baseline and service request hours and takes corrective actions; approve all overtime scheduling to control cost and overtime; ensure the scheduling of personnel for all special events


The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess one or more of the following:
    • Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice, Communications, Homeland Security or related field
    • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in project development, management, and control of funds and resources using complex reporting mechanisms
  • Must possess Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) Certification

  • Must possess demonstrated ability to operate various equipment and platforms utilized in the Command Center
  • Must possess the ability to thrive in a high-tempo environment and possess strong multi-tasking skills
  • Must possess successful completion of proficiency testing
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules
  • Must possess effective oral and written communication skills
  • Must possess the ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Must possess the ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Must possess the ability to operate radio, telephone, and automated information systems (computers), and possess strong Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) skills
  • Must possess the ability to logically and objectively analyze problems, apply sound judgment in assessing possible solutions, adjust to changing priorities, and meet tight deadlines
  • Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment).
  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment:    Office; minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures is expected. Climate-controlled environment that is often cooler than normal to keep computer equipment cool

Major activity:    Working on personal computer while utilizing telephones, radios, and web-based platforms.

Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Limited, to include some standing, bending, limited stretching and reaching
