Close Protection Officer

 

G4S Secure Solutions South Africa, a leading provider of integrated security management solutions, has a vacancy for a Close Protection Officer based at our operations in Pretoria

The main purpose of the role is to provide protection services to our high-profile/key client.

The successful incumbent is a self-starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and is able to exercise sound judgment in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organization, and understanding the role which close protection plays within a successful business unit. The incumbent will be expected to be results-driven and to live the values of the organization.


Role Responsibility:

The successful incumbent must be able to:

  • Understand and apply the principles of venue protection, including but not limited to residential security and the client's premises
  • Understand and apply the transit and convoy principles 
  • Be constantly alert and ready to respond to threatening situations
  • Be able to understand and apply the pedestrian escort principals 
  • Understand and apply the Embus and Debus principles
  • Understand and apply all applicable Legal Compliance principles in line with the Laws of the Republic of South Africa 
  • Show great competency and an understanding of G4S Company policies regarding Health and Safety, General Administration, Vehicle Management, and Firearm Management 

 

Health and Safety - Process Enhancement

  • Participate in the design/ development/ review/ implementation and monitoring of the client's anti-terrorist risk and departmental safety plans 
  • Participate in security and safety forums, COR client safety meetings, and safety talks
  • Report all safety incidents to the relevant client's contracting designated person 
  • Discuss all security and safety incidents by reporting
  • Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meeting/committee/representative/management
  • Attend contractual, safety, and refresher training intervention programs
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures at the workplace
  • Distribute safety information as and when required
  • Ensure all incidents promptly reported keeping to internal NCC protocols & investigated
  • At least 90% average score achieved on all completed Ops Audits
  • Zero % HSSEC fatality and accidents
  • Validate Site Assets,  Equipment Inventory & control inspected, operational, and up to date

 

 


The Ideal Candidate:

Qualification and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of close (executive) protection experience 
  • Level 3 first aid or higher
  • Advanced defensive and evasive driving 
  • Close protection qualification from an accredited SASSETA training facility
  • Minimum Psira Grade C Qualified 
  • SAPS firearm competency - handgun for Business Purposes
  • South African Citizien 
  • Valid drivers license
  • Own transport
