Including an annual retention bonus of £2,000 (pro-rata), plus a holiday allowance of 30 days holiday per year, including Bank Holidays, increasing to 35 days after 5 years service, plus an additional 2.5 Privilege days per year

 

We are looking to grow our existing Catering team at this prestigious site in Cheltenham, and currently have Full-time vacancies available. This is a full time role working 42.5 hours per week (including a 30 minute unpaid break period), Monday to Friday between the hours of 6:30am and 3pm.

 

Job Outline:

Support the catering operation to improve the customer food service experience by delivering the food offer in accordance with company food quality, standards, procedures and client contractual obligations whilst operating within budget.

 

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Adhere to all client and company Health & Safety policies and procedures at all times e.g. Food Handling, Manual handling, Fire procedures, Health & Safety paperwork.

  • Supervise and maintain the cleanliness of all kitchens and surrounding working areas ensuring Health and Safety hazards, issues, near misses and accidents are reported to your line Manager at the earliest opportunity.

  • Assist, and if required, supervise the delivery of the food service provision required utilising all available resources effectively and efficiently ensuring that all meals are provided to the required quality standards at the specified times to create a consistent customer experience and avoid any service failures or penalties.

  • Provide the highest level of customer service by role modelling the ESS Way values and behaviours at all times to colleagues, customers and clients.

  • As and when required assist with the planning of food production and process orders via nominated systems and use the correct approved Compass vendors.

  • Check invoices and delivery notes and report any anomalies using the correct reporting procedure.

  • Supervise the receipt, correct storage and quality of commodities and report any concerns or observations.

  • Ensure hot plate procedures including Food Information Regulations and Reference Intake labelling are in place and followed by the team.

  • Ensure the recovery and storage of food and correct labelling procedures are followed.

  • Follow all recipes provided to ensure full compliance of nutritional/dietary requirements.

  • Comply with menu cycles reporting any discrepancies to your Line Manager.

  • If required, assist with and monitor stocktaking procedures ensuring minimal risk of waste.

  • Attend regular training as directed by your line Manager according to the requirements of the company.

  • Assist with coaching and mentoring all Apprentice/Trainee Chefs on formal development programmes.

  • Follow all waste control procedures using the Food Production Process (FPP) guidelines.

  • Assist with the preparation of all function/hospitality menu costs in accordance with the correct pricing structure and provide in a timely manner to your line Manager.

  • Be flexible and comply with any reasonable requests made by your line Manager including if necessary working within other units within reasonable distance.


The Ideal Candidate:

Essential Criteria:

  • A good communicator - able to liaise confidently with customers and engage, motivate and develop team members.  

  • An enthusiastic individual with a passion for food and excellent service delivery.  

  • City and Guilds 706/1,2 or NVQ level 2 or equivalent.  

  • Basic Food Hygiene - Level 2.

 

Desirable Criteria:

  • IT literate. 

  • Experience within a similar role. 

  • City and Guilds 706/3 or NVQ level 3 or equivalent.  

  • Knowledge and experience of supervising or managing people.  

  • Intermediate Food Hygiene - Level 3.

 

The successful candidate must be willing to undergo and obtain extended security clearance in order to commence employment with us. On commencement of employment there is also a 2.5%  of annual salary ‘Golden Hello’.
