Job Introduction:

An opportunity has arisen for a new role within the Procurement team at the Worksop site. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the post holder will be responsible for tactical procurement activities in the UK, in-line with group procurements category strategies. The successful candidate must have a professional procurement qualification - CIPS Level 4+, a minimum of three years experience working in this field and excellent communication skills. Role Responsibility:

  • The role will focus on successful supply chain management in cost reduction.
  • To manage purchasing process (sourcing & procurement) for agreed local purchases for the business.
  • Identify, lead and implement ways to increase overall process efficiency through e-invoicing and catalogue management.
  • Support the business, Procurement Shared Services and Group Procurement.
  • Work in conjunction with Procurement Shared services and Group Procurement on tactical purchase orders for the assigned categories.
  • Develop categories plans for agreed categories and be a point of escalation on issues/queries relating to categorised contract.
  • Able to develop and implement supplier catalogues, to drive business requirements through agreed catalogues.
  • Ensure all corporate policies, standards and agreed  P2P processes are adhered to by the team, rectifying any non-compliance as appropriate
  • Support the Global Procurement Policy, governance (Procurement Minimum Standards (PIMS)) to ensure fair and compliant sourcing activities across UK businesses.
  • Product/Service negotiation with suppliers, including use of online negotiation tools
  • Review and monitor non-compliance within G4S contractual agreements
  • Responsible for supplier management and performance with KPI’s
  • Demonstrate a track record of being able to run an effective procurement process from start to finish line within Group Procurement policy
  • Seeks opportunities to leverage category spend to further reduce supplier costs, drive out additional savings, and improve overall efficiencies
  • Able to run review meetings with both stakeholders and suppliers to review performance and demonstrate they can manage improvement plans where poor performance is being delivered.

The Ideal Candidate:

Essential 

  • Professional procurement qualification CIPS Level 4+
  • Has strong communication and negotiation skills, with an understanding of procurement/sourcing processes and operations.
  • Must be confident in challenging others, whilst at the same time maintaining and building a professional relationship
  • Ability to influence key & diverse stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrable experience in a professional purchasing / buying environment
  • Must have the confidence to make sound recommendations to the client and must be fully experienced with running a tender.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and  problem-solving skills
  • 3+ years buyer experience  

Desirable 

  • Strong skills in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint
  • An understanding of SAP/Ariba and Oracle preferred but not essential
  • Self-motivated to achieve against targets
  • Strong influencing and communication skills
  • Experience of running structure tender/sourcing projects preferred but not essential
