Job Introduction:

G4S Secure Solutions (SA), a leading provider of integrated security management solutions, has a vacancy for a bookkeeper based at our operations in Centurion.

The incumbent will be expected to be results-driven and to live the values of the organization.

 


Role Responsibility:

Ensure preparation and review of working spreadsheets and forms

  • Prepare worksheets w.r.t.  relevant accounts
  • Credit note requests
  • Check allocation on invoicing

Update regional databases

  • Update sundry revenue register
  • Credit note request report
  • Checkers card transactions allocation, review and appropriate action wrt authorization
  • Update monthly invoice list
  • Monthly wage and salary allowance recon

Responsible for reconciliations 

  • Liaise with Cashbook w.r.t. the validity of debit orders and reconciliation thereof
  • Balance sheet recons 
  • Billing recon SMR
  • Vehicle insurance recon

EFT Requests & credit cards

  • EFT requests
  • Completing credit card reconciliations

Financial accountability & responsibility’s

  • Uniform & site expenses recon (budget vs actual)
  • Ensure compliance with existing policies and procedures
  • Assist with budget and forecasts
  • Assist with monthly profitability’s
  • Review the detailed 12-month report with FM 
  • Assist with VAT reconciliations

Maintain commercial customer files 

  • In conjunction with Fin Accountant, update and maintain commercial customer files

Health and Safety

  • Participate in the design/ development/ review/ implementation and monitoring of the departmental safety plans for each year
  • Participate in safety forums created by the company for example safety meetings and safety talks
  • Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
  • Discuss all safety incidents
  • Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meeting/committee/representative/management
  • Attend safety education and refresher programs
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures at the workplace
  • Distribute safety information as and when required


The Ideal Candidate:

Qualification and Experience

  • Grade 12 with Accounting as subject essential
  • Relevant Tertiary qualification would be advantageous
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant working experience 
  • Working experience on ERP Packages recommended
  • Sound understanding of VAT principles and legislation
  • Sound understanding of Cost accounting
