Role Responsibility:

JOB PURPOSE: Supporting the Operations Manager in all technical requirements on a daily basis to provide high quality and timely services  to ensure client satisfaction; quality care in the packing, handling and transportation of artwork; technical supervision;

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  • Working with the Operations Manager as the principal member of the technical team for fine art projects in London and the UK
  • Drive and maintain the company vehicle
  • Member of the technical team working to ensure all technical requirements are met within a reasonable time frame
  • Working on major fine art installations, handling and packing projects including exhibitions, auctions, art fairs and single shipments  
  • Warehouse & Inventory management  on a daily basis
  • The candidate will be responsible for assisting with the packing, wrapping, unpacking and installation of the highest quality of fine art
  • Heavy lifting may be required
  • Previous proven experience in the transportation of fine art
  • Must be used to securing and handling fragile items for safe transport.
  • Some experience in hanging artworks/installation processes 


The Ideal Candidate:

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION:

  • Experienced Fine Art Handler with detailed understanding of Fine Art industry – both technical and operational
  • Ability to build and maintain good vendor and customer relations
  • Competent fine art handling, packing and installation skills
  • Must have clean driver’s licence and record
  • Proficiency of problem solving, handling any issues and customer queries

COMPETENCIES AND BEHAVIOURS:

  • Customer thinkingthe capacity to think about the customer and their needs at all times
  • Must have a solid knowledge of how to handle objects safely and efficiently and understand the materials of the objects that are being handled and how these materials may react with installation or packing materials. It is useful to be spatially oriented, good at math, and possess problem solving skills. Must have the ability to plan out and communicate the plan of action with the rest of the team before beginning an action.
  • Good communication skills
  • Must be used to physical and demanding work
  • Good knowledge of the roads and an ability to route plan
  • A smart appearance and a friendly personality, flexible approach to working the hours as required in order to complete jobs.
