As a Security Officer at G4S, you have the opportunity to work sociable hours in a stable role. In this role, you will work mostly Monday-Friday and between 8:45am-5:15pm (some weekends and evenings required). While you’ll benefit from some security experience, it’s not essential, as we provide full SIA (Security Industry Authority) licence training.

More than a security guard, you’ll keep everyone safe, providing customer service with a smile and managing visitors, car parking and any incidents. With a keen eye and a brilliant way with people, you must be a friendly face who enjoys helping the public and being on your feet all day.

If you can maintain secure environments at different sites in your area, you could look forward to an interesting role packed full of variety. Aged 18 or over, you should be outgoing, approachable and a confident communicator and with the drive to provide a friendly and professional service as part of our team.

As these relief Security Officer roles involve travelling to and working at client sites in your area, you’ll ideally have a full driving licence and be able to travel to work by car. Or be able to use public transport to get to the different sites in time for your shift. We offer an expenses package to support travel costs.

While you’ll mainly work weekdays with the occasional weekend and evening, you can boost your pay with overtime and opportunities to work at all kinds of events. You can also enjoy real career progression with a big national company.

The world’s leading provider of security solutions, we offer loads of training and support. You’ll be in safe hands from our induction and on-site training to regular reviews and welfare checks with our managers. We also provide great benefits:

·         20 days’ holiday plus 8 Bank Holidays

·         Company sick pay scheme

·         Contributory pension scheme

·         Contributory health plan.

Click apply to be redirected to our careers website to complete your application. As this is a security role we’re required by law to ask a number of screening questions. You’ll only have to do this once to be eligible to apply for G4S at our wide range of security roles, including at any of our world famous events. We’ve made this as quick as possible so that you can soon enjoy being a part of the action.

You must also be willing and able to travel to multiple sites of the client within the region.  Ideally, you will possess a full driving licence, as well as access to a reliable vehicle. However, where transport links are good, we will also consider applicants who do not drive, but can demonstrate that they can travel between sites within the area with ease and for the start of each shift.

We also offer an expense package to support the cost of travel.

You will need to have a flexible approach to work and be able to work Monday to Friday between 0845 and 1715 with occasional evenings and weekends.

As you will be working directly with the customer as part of a team to deliver an outstanding service, it is imperative you are able to work closely with your fellow colleagues to ensure members of the public comply with site rules and guidance. You may also be required to complete legible incident report writing if an incident should arise, so you’ll need to be fluent in both spoken and written English.
