Job Introduction:

This position description assumes that the individual has satisfied all basic requirements for employment by G4S Secure Solutions (Canada) Ltd., including, but not limited to: security licence validation and criminal police information check as applicable (CPIC), credit reference(if applicable), background check, minimum age, and minimum education (high school diploma or foreign equivalency, or earned GED).  Additionally, this job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by this employee.  The individual in this position is required to follow any other instructions and perform any other duties requested by this position’s management.

Role Responsibility:

Access Control:

  • Validate RAICS, Passes, and Documents of Entitlement
  • Prevent Unauthorized access
  • Issue Temporary Passes
  • Inspects conveyances for the presence of unauthorized persons
  • Inspect persons and conveyances to ensure compliance

Stock Control:

  • Enforcement of the HSIA Supply Chain and Stock Control protocol

Emergency Response:

  • Activate and provide response to the breaches
  • Activate and provide response to the threats
  • Provide response to HSIA incidents and events

Monitoring & Patroling:

  • Conduct Security duties in accordance with the HSIAA Security Strategic Patrol Plan
  • Enforce HSIA airside traffic directives

Security Investigations & Operations:

  • Conduct investigations to resolve security and safety incidents/ events
  • Observe and report non-compliance with Security and Safety regulations
  • Use Handheld RAIC reader
  • Use explosive detection trace equipment
  • Conduct ecurity on the job training
  • Conduct security exercises.

The Ideal Candidate:

The incumbent must have 

  • Good Communication and Customer Service Skills
  • Successfully complete a safety-related initial training on Human and Organizational factors
  • Passes on-site security training program
  • Possess a Transport Security Clearance and a Restricted Area Identity Card
  • Able to obtain a Class D airside vehicle's permit - AVOP
  • Have Leadership experience
  • Be Computer Efficient
  •  A valid Nova Scotia Driver's Licence and able to provide Driver's abstract
  • Qualified in Emergency First Aid
  • Able to attend Stanfield Way Workshop
  • The candidate is required to complete a course on Personal Training for the Assistance of Persons with Disability Regulations and the associated Canadian Transportation Agency's code of practice.
