Key Responsibilities; 

This role requires an experienced Accountant able to provide analysis support and key reconciliation of controls in respect of our Fire and Security Systems Business. This will include regular liaison and co-operation with other members of all the Fire and Security Systems Departments, Head Office and other group companies.


The primary objective is to support the smooth operation, input and accurate maintenance of the General Ledger relating to G4S Fire and Security and to be actively involved in the refining of procedures and the preparation of budgets and forecasts.                                                                    

  • Assist in production of monthly accounts to regional timetable including BPC upload, specifically becoming the lead within the Monitoring business.
  • Assist in preparation of month end reports
  • Monthly reconciliation of all relevant GL accounts
  • Preparation and posting of Journals.                                    
  • Supporting the business in cash management – analysis of overdue debt
  • Maintain schedules for the calculation of Prepayments and Accruals
  • Maintaining details of contracts , gains and losses
  • Providing accounting analyses - both regular and ad-hoc
  • Assisting in the budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Assisting in the reconciliation and checking of Inventory postings
  • Ad hoc duties as required.

  • Minimum of part qualified with one of the recognised accounting bodies (CIMA/AACA).
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in an accounting role.
  • IT literate with good Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Ability to work with the minimum of supervision
  • Good communication skills
  • Highly numerate
  • Personable
  • Able to work as part of a team or under own initiative.
