Grounds Maintenance Supervisor 

Salary: £28,163.20 per annum
Working Hours: Permanent, full time, 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday 07:30 - 15:30
Location: Cheltenham

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Cheltenham, responsible for delivering high-quality horticultural services and supervising contractors to meet strict SLAs and KPIs. This role involves hands-on maintenance, team leadership, and collaborating with stakeholders, including deputising for the Team Leader.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Operations & Safety:</strong> Perform grounds maintenance (lawn care, pruning, planting) in compliance with safety, site, and KPI standards 
  • Contractor & Site Mgmt:</strong> Supervise on-site contractors, review RAMS, and manage site aesthetics, including cleaning and maintenance tasks
  • Leadership & Admin:</strong> Lead staff, manage resources, maintain records, and support project specifications, including using the FMIS system 

Essential Requirements

  • Horticultural Expertise: Proven experience and knowledge in modern horticultural practices 
  • Leadership Ability: Strong supervisory, planning, and delegation skills 
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using and maintaining commercial grounds maintenance equipment 
  • Compliance: IOSH Managing Safely certificate and knowledge of COSHH 

Desirable Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Horticulture 
  • PA1 & PA2 Pesticide Application Certification </li>
