About the role and team

This position is based at the Malmsbury Youth Justice Centre, based between Bendigo and Sunbury. The role sits within a large, supportive team, and reports to the Security Site Manager. In this position you will provide general security services including access control, screening, and perimeter security across the site.

There is a corrections presence on site run by Corrections Victoria, so the role does not require you to undertake correctional duties or interact with young people in detention, however you may be required to enter secure areas of the facility. We are looking for professional, licenced security staff to join our team to undertake security duties for our client, such as:

• Reception Duties - Providing friendly and efficient customer service for all people entering the centre and taking phone calls.
• Patrols - Roving security patrols around the perimeter of the building.
• Sallyport Management - Checking trucks thoroughly in the sallyport area upon entry, including taking everything out of the truck for inspection and confiscating any prohibited items.
• Control room monitoring, involving checking alarms and managing boom gates

What we're looking for

• Victorian Security Licence
• Valid First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain prior to employment.
• Working with Children Check (Employee Version), or willingness to obtain prior to employment.
• 24/7 availability across a 7 day work week
• Experience in control room monitoring
• Experience working in a similar environment.
