Job Introduction:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Support Operator to join the technical support team, based in Belfast Northern Ireland.

The successful candidates will provide technical support to G4S ARC Team Leaders, G4S IT, G4S F&SS, Intruder Alarm/CCTV installation companies and Service Engineers out in the field.

The key responsibilities of this position are to provide technical support services with respect to configuring security devices that signal into the G4S Sentinel Plus and Immix Cloud alarm monitoring platforms.

Role Responsibility:

Supporting Engineers in the field with respect to technical support queries, (front Line Support ) connectivity and alarm monitoring of the following devices:

  • Intruder Alarm systems
  • CCTV DVR’s 
  • IP cameras
  • Analogue cameras
  • PAL   ( Man down device )
  • MBY ( Man down device )
  • OYSTER ( Man down device )
  • CSL
  • Legacy GSM’s
  • Legacy Radio’s

Future Technology – the Technical Support Operator will have to demonstrate an in depth technical knowledge of any new security product/system that G4S Alarm Monitoring adopt going forward. Full training will be given with respect to new technology in advance of G4S supporting such security products/systems.

Sentinel Plus Alarm Monitoring Platform :

  • Candidates should have an in depth working knowledge of Sentinel Plus alarm monitoring platform and fully understand the system architecture including all alarm communication paths which G4S alarm monitoring support. 
  • Candidates should be competent with respect to setting up new Sentinel Plus accounts and must have a strong technical aptitude.
  • Ability to interrogate Sentinel technical diagnostic reports, process all queries to a conclusion with G4S business support team/ IT and monitor technical support.
  • Managing day to day technical support queries, processing all queries to a conclusion with G4S Business Support Team/IT and Monitor technical support.
  • Ability to work with Monitor Computer Systems technical support and G4S IT to root cause Sentinel alarm monitoring platform issues.
  • Supporting G4S IT and Monitor Computer Systems with respect to Sentinel upgrades.
  • Ability to support external and internal customer technical reports requests, need to have an in depth knowledge of Sentinel Plus report setup and writing.
  • Ability to setup and manage customer Sentinel Webviewer account.

Immix CCTV monitoring platforms plus associated gateway platforms :

  • In depth knowledge of the system architecture and functionality of this alarm monitoring platform.
  • Ability to interrogate SureView technical diagnostic reports and communications.
  • Ability to work with SureView technical support and G4S IT to root cause Immix Cloud alarm monitoring platform issues.
  • The successful candidate will need to have extensive knowledge of configuring CCTV systems, DVR and associated camera types and device configuration. 
  • Take ownership for configuring, walk testing and validating the functionality of all new CCTV site commissions with the installation engineer.

G4S Alarm Monitoring Alarm receivers and platforms :

The successful candidate will possess a working knowledge of all the alarm receivers and should also have a firm understanding of how all system are setup and signal into G4S Alarm Monitoring.

The business support technical operator should poses a working knowledge of the following platforms/systems.

  • Sentinel Plus
  • Immix Cloud
  • Adpro 
  • Heitel
  • Ateagro
  • AES Intellinet
  • Oysta
  • Legacy radio equipment
  • Legacy G4S supported alarm monitoring hardware

The Ideal Candidate:

Essential Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience working in an Alarm Receiving Centre.
  • Proven technical skills working within an Alarm Receiving Centre security environment, supporting both internal and external Customers & Installation Engineers with respect to intruder alarm and CCTV integration.
  • Must be flexible and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work on own initiative while also contributing as part of a support team.
  • Strong analytical approach to problem solving to deliver root cause analysis and innovative solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • 5 years checkable work history
  • Unrestricted right to work in the UK/EU
  • Fluent written and spoken English
