Role Responsibility:

As a key point of contact for both staff and visitors at the premises of our client, Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), Street Ambassadors will represent the Gogarburn Street, as the primary interface with customers and RBS colleagues. Their sole purpose will be to provide a seamless customer and visitor experience whilst also undertaking a passive and non-intrusive approach to security through surveillance techniques.

The Ideal Candidate:

 Security professional – To be vigilant and proficient in all threat level awareness

 Customer focused - Providing first class support service. This will include information provision, local knowledge and enhanced disability interaction

 Partnership working - Ensuring all street ambassadors have the full breadth of knowledge of the facilities service team within the campus

 Natural communicator – Articulate interpersonal skill set with a degree of charisma to manage a unique environment

 Industry leading personal presentation standards, with exceptional FOH qualities

 Competent with the use of the latest innovative technology and apps  Living the RBS values of Determined to Lead and TOFU

 All individuals will meet an agreed assessment benchmark and be screened to PES 4 standards

 A full detailed training programme will be provided


Candidate Specification:


- Fluent in spoken and written English

- Prior security experience gained in a Corporate, Critical National Infrastructure, Police or Military environment

- Achieves a score of between 3 & 5 on ‘Acting Professionally’ & ‘Information Dissemination’ recruitment assessment

- Competent user of modern tablet type technologies

- Smart appearance, confident and personable

- Experience of basic conflict resolution

- Effective communicator both verbally and written

- Good security awareness and the ability to identify risks and act accordingly


- Possession of valid SIA Licence

- Trained in accordance with project Griffin

- Knowledge of legal rights and powers and the use of reasonable force

- Qualification in Customer Service or Facilities Management role

Trained in advance level conflict resolution

- Possession of a valid first aid certificate

- Good level of competency in computer skills

- Local knowledge of the region, and awareness of the transport functions around Gogarburn
