Job Introduction:

As a Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for the professional operation, administration, profitability, and quality assurance of uniformed services for a single shift at a G4S client’s site. Execution of department policies, procedures, and unit objectives. Assist in the oversight of the daily security operations. They will also be able perform all CPO duties, special event security, and other duties as assigned. In addition, they will be accountable for all weekly and monthly life safety systems checks.  In case of an emergency, they will be part of the incident response team.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Oversee the staffing, scheduling, and on-site training for security officers assigned to his/her shift. Coaching, training, special assignments, training exercises, annual evaluations. Ensuring that contract-required training and screening elements for security personnel have been met
  • Assist Client by serving as a liaison with local law enforcement authorities
  • CCTV surveillance
  • Complete detailed reports. Vehicle logs or incident reports and follow-up for any type of event of situation that happens on site to include but not limited to police involvement, injury, hazard, access breach, potential or actual threats, property damage, theft or use of force
  • Work with onsite management in providing coverage for special events and CPO coverage for client needs
  • Prepares and analyses shift daily reports and monthly inspections
  • Maintain overtime to a minimal or preset requirement designated by G4S
  • Ensure quality of service and contract compliance by regularly inspecting security personnel and their job performance when assigned to his/her shift
  • Perform other operations and related functions (e.g., payroll, review and maintain incident reports, assist in preparation of security surveys and post orders)
  • Make recommendations for positive and negative personnel actions for those under his/her direct supervision
  • Respond to client requests

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Defense & Arrest Tactics (DAAT) Certification
  • Must have valid driver’s license with a driving record with 5 or less ARI points and be able to operate a vehicle during the day and night

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must have one or more of the following:
    • Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement, security (such as Military Police, Elite Military Forces, combat arms) or any support role in a Combat Zone
    • Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian) in the law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighter field.
    • Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studies with an additional 2 years of prior security experience within a corporate environment.
    • A minimum of 8 or more years of active service in any military branch
    • Associates degree or higher in criminal justice or law enforcement related studies with current or prior active military service.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a supervisor or higher with demonstrated ability in risk management and management of a multiple site location environment

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules and respond to work assignments with little to no advance notice.
  • Must be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
  • Must have demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
  • Must submit to a pre-employment drug test
  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment:         Indoor/ outdoor government facilities

Major activity:        monitor site activities and access control

Physical efforts to carry out job duties:      Requires moderate to arduous physical exertion involving walking, prolonged periods of standing, and exposure to inclement weather. Ability to maneuver over 50 lbs occasionally.
