G4S, the world's leading private security organization, has an immediate career opportunity for a Shift Security Supervisor. In this position, your responsibilities include time-keeping for the site, new hire personnel information, on-site training administration and input, and gate clearance. In addition, reports to be maintained will include, but not be limited to, a daily/weekly gate journal report in an excel spreadsheet format. Other administrative duties may be assigned. The day shift supervisor must ensure contract compliance by regularly inspecting the post and facility assigned, supervising security staff, and conducting performance evaluations. You will also act as the senior contractor security officer on duty in the absence of the security operations Site Supervisor. Other duties include, but are not limited to, safety direction, quality assurance, planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the security team during normal and emergency operations and training

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Time-keeping for site personnel; timesheet production for all shifts
  • Complete daily/weekly gate journal reports, daily badge audit reports
  • Ordering and reproduction of all necessary company and client forms
  • Provide supervision to security officers in absence of Site Supervisor
  • Assist in staffing, scheduling, and on-site training for security officers
  • Ensure quality of service and contract compliance by regularly inspecting the post and facility assigned to
  • Promote and enforce safety measures
  • Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post
  • Provide assistance to customers, employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
  • Miscellaneous reports as required by site management
  • Maintenance of appropriate inventory supplies
  • Conduct security related investigations as required
  • Conduct officer training and cross train officers as necessary

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to pass any state-required training or other qualifications for licensing
  • Must possess a current and valid driver's license

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must have a minimum of one (1) year of documented management/supervisory experience, preferably in a security environment
  • Must possess a minimum of one (1) year of security-related experience

Skills Required

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy

Other Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment).
  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment: Mostly indoor, minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures is expected

Major activity: Working on PC while sitting

Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Limited, to include some standing, bending, and limited stretching and reaching.
