Job Introduction:

Main purpose of this job is to supervise the day-to-day running of the operation and any key project areas as instructed to do so by the G4S Contracts Manager or representative. Also, to monitor record and deliver operational compliance as instructed.

Complexity and Creativity
Jobholder has to ensure that the customer is provided with the agreed level of service, and to protect against non-compliant operation by ensuring mandatory requirements for procedures and training are adhered to. The job-holder will liaise with the operational managers in establishing the best methods of monitoring and documenting status reports, and will report to the contracts manager accordingly. They must maintain a high level of customer service awareness amongst staff. Proactive management and problem solving skills are required to meet demands of customers. Must be able to motivate agents to ensure that they are constantly alert and maintain a high level of security awareness.

Judgement and Decisions
Jobholder is required to make decisions relating to the effective and efficient utilisation of resources for daily operation, as well as planning training or procedural change.

On a daily basis: by telephone, in writing and face-to-face, with customers, management and staff.

Responsibility  
The jobholder is responsible for achieving the required levels of regulatory compliance.  Responsible for ensuring that the customer receives the highest possible standard of service and complaints are reduced to a minimum. 

Working Environment
Shift roster agreed depending on requirements, including day, night, weekend and bank holiday working.
Absence cover will be provided for annual leave taken.  

Role Responsibility:

  1. Maintain local procedures; produce/conduct operational audits as necessary.
  2. Liaise with Contracts Manager to ensure all the required training is completed for all G4S employees in line with CAA regulations and DHL requirements.
  3. Monitor and control staff rest periods whilst maintaining operational requirements.
  4. Monitor efficiency of area of responsibility and ensure manpower utilisation is correct and efficient, and to resolve or escalate any resource issues immediately.
  5. Liaise with Contracts Manager to plan and arrange training courses accordingly.
  6. Review Health & Safety procedures and drive procedural change where necessary.
  7. Any other duty as requested by your superior reporting staff.
  8. Complete monthly care visits on all G4S staff working in the warehouse environment.
  9. Complete all data inputting in line with DHL requirements.
  10. Ensure quality of service provided matches customer requirements and company standards whilst maintaining regulatory procedures.
  11. Continually review and document operational performance.
  12. Submit written reports on any operational or disciplinary matters that may arise, including verbal warnings that may have been given to our employees, and conduct counselling meetings.
  13. Deal with any problems that arise amongst personnel during tour of duty which come under G4S Cargo Screening responsibility. Any problem of a serious nature must be reported to the G4S National Operations Manager immediately, regardless of the time it occurs.

The Ideal Candidate:

To be considered for employment with G4S in this role you must be able to meet the following minimum requirements:

Unrestricted right to work full time in the UK for a minimum period of 12 months
Must be a UK resident for the last 3 years
Be fluent in spoken and written English
Must be able to pass the CRC check
Have a five year checkable employment history or be able to  produce documentary evidence of any period of unemployment, self- employment or full and part  time education during that period

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Good working knowledge of all Warehouse operations
  • Good communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports
  • To possess good employee-management and motivational skills
