Job Introduction:

Accounts Receivable Clerk

G4S Secure Solutions (SA), a leading global integrated security solutions company has a vacancy for an Credit Controller based in Pretoria.

Reporting to the National Accounts Receivable Manager, the Credit Controller is responsible for the efficient, timely and accurate billing and receipting of accounts, including the timely collection on invoices and management of DSO days  relating to Systems and Technology accounts.

The position requires at least 3 years’ experience within a financial accounts receivable environment. Experience within a technology/systems environment will be advantageous.

The successful incumbent is a self starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and is able to exercise sound judgement in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation, and understanding the role which accounts receivable plays within a successful business unit. The incumbent will be expected to be results driven and to live the values of the organisation.

Role Responsibility:




Compliance with Company Finance Policy and procedures applicable to Accounts Receivable


  • Forward invoices to customers immediately once billed
  • Forward statement together with outstanding invoices to customer immediately after month end
  • Ensure Collection target is met
  • Ensure DSO target is met
  • Ensure Suspense account is cleared within 30 days
  • Allocate receipts
  • Allocate/Clear all credits on the age analysis
  • Ensure intercompany transactions are cleared
  • Ensure collection policy is followed at all times
  • Hand customers over for legal action if needed

Effective Customer liaison and administration and reporting

  • Attend to any queries relating to technical billing and collections
  • Attend to any Adhoc duties as requested by AR manager
  • Verify billing to be correct
  • Report monthly on outstanding issues
  • Assist with billing if and when needed
  • Complete the Daily collection schedule
  • Keep AR Manager informed of all discrepancies
  • Complete Bad debt Provision and risk schedule weekly
  • Maintain customer relationships

Maintain and update Master file

  • Maintaining Master file changes of debtors
  • Ensure customer details are correct at all times
  • Verify and loading of new Debtors on financial system
  • Corresponding with Technology team with regards to new debtors and/or changes
  • Attending to queries

The Ideal Candidate:


  • Grade 12, with Accounting
  • Relevant qualification would be advantageous
  • 3 Years’s relevant working experience




  • Knowledge of G4S accounting processes
  • Customer Service
  • Computer literate - ability to work on Excel, MS Outlook
  • Communication (written and verbal)
