The world's leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for a Security Operations Center Operator. As a Security Operations Center, you will be directly responsible for the identification, notification, and remediation of alarms, accurate documentation of routine and unusual events occurring on or near the facilities, monitoring and utilizing access management tools, and maintains control of all equipment and keys in the SOC.  This position is responsible for competing task work orders for all maintenance needs reported.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

 

  • Monitor all security, communications and fire/life safety systems within the designated region via the provided monitoring systems
  • Serve as the liaison between all departments and the Security Department
  • Handle (without delay) complaints and unusual/critical event information to Shift Supervisor, Account Manager, and Security Director
  • Directly responsible for the accurate documentation of routine and unusual events occurring on or near the facilities (accomplished via shift reports, pass-downs logs, incident reports, incident reports logs, or other established methods)
  • Accurately maintain control of all equipment and keys in the Control Room. Accurately logs all equipment and keys signed out and returned by Security, parking and shuttle bus staff
  • Complete 'Task work orders" for all reported maintenance needs
  • Inform (without delay) the Shift Supervisor I Account Manager of any missing, damaged, or inoperative equipment or communications, alarm, CCTV, or other systems
  • Proactively monitor all surveillance cameras and CCTV remote viewer programs. Monitors and responds to all security/life safety system alarms

 


The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain CPR/AED/First Aid Certification

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • One (1) year verifiable experience with access management system(s)
  • Must possess one or more of the following:
    • Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement, security (such as Military Police, Elite Military Forces, combat arms) or any support role in a Combat Zone
    • Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian) in the law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighter field
    • Bachelor’s degree in protective services, business or related field
    • A minimum of 8 or more years of active service in any military branch
    • Associate’s degree (or 60 credits) or higher in criminal justice with current or prior active military service

Other

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Advanced computer skills and proficiency
  • Be able to work flexible schedules and respond to work with little to no advance notice
  • Be able to work in a team environment
  • Be able to multi-task, discerns patterns in detail
  • Excellent verbal/writing skills
  • Be able to think through problems for logical solutions, and remain calm and professional under stress
  • Be able to speak clearly, give direction, and provide guidance to employees and security staff during emergencies
  • Post offer, must be able to pass the following:
    • MMPI - Psychological testing
    • SOP (Security Officer Profile), if required by a related contract
    • Physical exam
  • Must be able to pass any state-required training or other qualifications for licensing
  • Must successfully complete all other training required for the position
  • Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results, unless undergoing prescribed medical treatment
  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks
  • Must submit to a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment:  Indoor with minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures

Major activity:  Sitting, standing, speaking listening, observing

Physical efforts to carry out job duties:  Sitting and standing.  Minimal to no stooping or kneeling.
