G4S has been successful in being awarded a new contract with Court Services Victoria, which will see court security services being expanded across all courts in Victoria.  

 

Role Responsibility:

The Role:

The role of a Court Security officer with G4S will allow staff to showcase and enhance their customer service skills, as well as further practice and develop their skills in managing emergency situations and conflict resolution. We are looking for candidates who are interested in full time, part time and casual positions across a number of courts across Melbourne CBD.  

Key Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing friendly and efficient customer service for all persons entering court facilities
  • Conducting x-ray screening, and searching using metal detection equipment
  • Roving security patrols both  within and around the facility
  • Ensuring the safety and security of facilities and all persons within and around the facility
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation
  • Managing access control systems
  • Writing detailed and accurate reports
  • Assisting in any emergency situations or evacuations
  • Contribute to a proactive, unique team

The Ideal Candidate:

To be considered for this position, you must demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • A current Victorian Security Licence
  • Minimum Certificate II in Security Operations
  • A current Level II Certificate in First Aid with CPR
  • Additional qualifications within the security sector including screening, batons and handcuffs, defensive tactics and control room operations will be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflict coupled with strong communication skills
  • The ability to communicate effectively with people from different backgrounds and walks of life
  • An ongoing commitment to health, fitness and well being
  • High level of integrity and commitment to company and/or site procedures
  • Attention to detail and strong literacy and numeracy skills
