Job Introduction:

As a Corporate Staff Accountant, you will assure the integrity of Fixed Assets, prepare reconciliations, PeopleSoft closing responsibilities, and assist the operational units in achieving their goals.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

PeopleSoft Closing Responsibilities:

  • Correct and post out of balance and system generated JEs
  • Run allocation processes - 401k, Vacation, Bonus, General Liability, Bad Debt etc.
  • Analyze, calculate, and journalize company wide manual accruals and manual allocations
  • Record Interoffice Billings [IOBs] in PeopleSoft
  • Record deposits made by the AR Team in PeopleSoft
  • Monitor, analyze, and correct system entries into Suspense account
  • Run P&Ls out of PeopleSoft  for sharing with Branches, Regions, and HQ

Fixed Assets:

  • Updates and maintenance
  • Run month end processes for FA module
  • Prepare monthly reconciliation between FA & GL
  • Prepare roll forward schedule for audit purposes

Reconciliations:

  • Prepare monthly reconciliations for assigned GL accounts
  • Investigate and resolve reconciling items on a monthly basis

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or other business related major

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting and/or financial management
  • Work history must in include the demonstration of advanced Excel skills (i.e. vlookup)

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail

Other

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must submit to a pre-employment drug test
  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment:         Office; indoor with minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures expected

Major activity:        Working on PC while sitting; telephone use

Physical efforts to carry out job duties:      Limited, to include some standing, bending, limited stretching, and reaching
