Job Introduction:

The world’s leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for a Shift Supervisor.  In this position, you will be responsible for enforcing all company rules, policies and procedures and conducting proper training and oversight according to contract and company specifications.  You will provide quality service through post inspections and will be responsible for the gathering, documenting, and reporting of all incidents., as well as strengthening communication between, officers, management, and our client.

Role Responsibility:

  • Assist with conducting orientation and training of all new G4S personnel
  • Maintain close working relationship with our client.
  • Manage payroll and scheduling procedures as directed by the Site Supervisor
  • Maintain the professional operation, administration and quality assurance of uniformed services for the site
  • Function as the shift team leader of G4S officers and clinical staff
  • Complete required shift logs and reports. Be compliant with site post orders, G4S and client policies and procedures
  • Maintain G4S standard of image; conduct oneself in professional, calm and courteous manner at all times
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or directed by G4S supervision
  • Maintain required certifications, licensing and training to achieve professional competency as appropriate for the position
  • Make recommendations for positive and negative personnel actions for those under his/her direct supervision
  • Ensure quality of service and contract compliance by regularly inspecting security personnel and their job performance when assigned to his/her shift
  • Oversee the staffing, scheduling, and on-site training for security officers assigned to his/her shift
  • Inspect all Officers at the start of each shift for appearance and readiness for duty

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing
  • Must be able to pass a State licensing test if driving a company-owned or client-provided vehicle

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years of law enforcement and/or security-related experience

Skills Required

  • Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and / or console monitors
  • Ability to successfully complete all training required for the position
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to encourage effective teamwork

  • Must be at least 21 years old or the minimum age required by the state
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules
  • Must have access to reliable transportation
  • Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment). 
  • Must be able to pass an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment:  Indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat

Major activity:  Walking, standing, speaking, listening, observing

Physical efforts to carry out job duties:  Standing, lifting, walking, and sitting. Minimal to no stooping or kneeling.
