The world's leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for a Healthcare Shift Supervisor. As a Healthcare Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of healthcare security officers and physical security of the site campus and its surrounding grounds. The individual in this position must be a leader who provides guidance to all reporting officers to enhance the security of the client's site. The individual in this position must also be proactive in assisting HR in recruiting qualified officers to fill openings.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Primary liaison between G4S and officers and secondary liaison between G4S and client management; oversee customer relations, make recommendations to Site Supervisor for updates to physical security surveys and post orders
  • General operations management assistance; provide supervision to Security Officers (e.g., implement standard security operations at the site, and ensure compliance through supervision), review disciplinary actions for consistency and propriety
  • General training management assistance; assist Site Supervisor to ensure that contract-required training and screening elements for security personnel have been met, including maintaining required certifications and attending appropriate training
  • Ensure quality assurance and contract compliance and work to ensure a safety and secure environment for all patients, visitors and staff
  • General human resources management (indirect); coordinate and assist Human Resources personnel on recruiting efforts, including conducting active recruiting to fill open positions
  • Assist Site Supervisor with scheduling; creating maintaining and communicating schedules to Officers, maintaining overtime to a preset requirement designated by G4S
  • Monitor attendance, tardiness, shift changes and overtime usage, reporting any concerns to Site Supervisor and management
  • Investigate and report suspicious situations, possible crimes and other violations to management and/or authorities, as warranted by the situation
  • Communicate using Secure TraxTM, two way radios, CCTV, telephones and computers
  • Escort and interact cordially with patients and/or facility staff, as needed
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or directed by supervisor

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing
  • Must be able to pass a State licensing test if driving a company-owned or client-provided vehicle
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have completed, or be able to successfully complete, the G4S Leadership for Supervisors and Managers course within 90 days of hire
  • Must have completed, or be able to successfully complete, the G4S Healthcare Security Officer Training Program within 30 days of hire

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must have one or more of the following:
    • Service in the active duty military, military reserves, or National Guard
    • Service in Auxiliary Police or Police Cadets
    • Meaningful and verifiable work history
    • Minimum of one year verifiable and successful security experience
    • Associate's degree or higher in any discipline

  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail

Other

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Post hire, must be able to provide each of the following:
    • Proof of a tuberculosis (TB-PPD) test within the last 12 months
    • Proof of Rubella, Rubeola, and Varicella immunity
    • Proof of Hepatitis B and flu immunization or declination
  • Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment).
  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment: Office; minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures is expected

Major Activity: Working on PC while sitting

Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Limited, to include some standing, bending, and limited stretching and reaching.
