Job Introduction:

The world's leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for an Security Management Specialist. As an Security Management Specialist, you will will serve as the administrative and management adjunct for security officer functions to include daily personnel accountability, inter-facility communication, executive security support, event staffing and training development. This role maintains situational awareness of leadership security needs, coordinates appropriately and assists with daily security functions. Position will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager on a daily basis with officer compliance, policy development and officer support. Position will have additional duties in support of executive security by means of maintaining and updating support calendars, coordinating event staffing and developing training.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

Administrative Oversight (30%)

  • Assist in security officer site inspections
  • Aid in project development
  • Lead in officer training development, mentorship and implementation
  • Daily interaction with officers

Executive Support (30%)

  • Assist in executive support functions
  • Coordinate and staff sponsored events as needed
  • Conduct pre-site surveys, ascertain event needs and relay for implementation

Communications (20%)

  • Coordinate among  personnel and facilities for daily support
  • Liaise with management support personnel and fill needs accordingly
  • Track, deconflict and promote communication for events

Regulatory Compliance (20%)

  • Assist in policy development, writing and implementation
  • Aid in the development standard Officer training and executive support training

Implement training in accordance with business needs

  • Accumulate and process metrics in accordance with company guidelines

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate’s degree or higher in communications, criminal justice, or related field
  • Pass any state-required training or other qualifications for licensing

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Three (3) or more years of military, law enforcement, or security related experience

Skills Required

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail

Other

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must be proficient in basic to advanced computer skills, ability to adapt to new user interfaces, comfortably control administrative aspects of security software, basic knowledge of Windows Office programs
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be able to think critically in emergency situations
  • Must have advanced writing, editing, and listening skills to effectively convey multifaceted ideas
  • Must possess critical and creative thinking skills that will assist in analyzing vast amounts of varied data
  • Must be able to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to grasp an overall communications plan and command structure
  • Must be able to identify weaknesses, propose solutions and implement guidance
  • Must have demonstrated ability to receive, process and direct guidance with low oversight
  • Must submit to a pre-employment drug test
  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment:  Office; minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures is expected

Major activity:  Data systems management and associated functions, working on a computer while sitting

Physical efforts to carry out job duties:  Limited, to include some standing, bending, limited stretching and reaching
