At HMP Birmingham we are extremely proud of our long history, heritage and the wealth of experience that comes with a prison that has been open since 1849.  HMP Birmingham was also the first ever public sector prison to be transferred into the private sector estate.

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our team to support the HR Department and the establishment on all end to end recruitment activities. The successful candidate must be competent in using all Microsoft packages and have experience of dealing with large scale recruitment activites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a full recruitment and administrative service to support the HR Team with recruitment activities across the establishment.
  • Maintain databases around vetting and recruitment across the establishment in particular around the PCO pipeline and OMIC model.
  • Organise and lead on the PCO recruitment days across the establishment for PCO’s and other job roles at E2 grade and below.
  • Evaluate the ongoing assessment centre and interview process across the establishment feeding back concerns and outcomes.
  • Look at a number of proactive ways we can recruit PCO’s linking up with universities, schools and colleges and the central recruitment team.
  • Look at exploring whether it is feasible to hold a number of recruitment open days on site and organise the days from start to finish.
  • Undertake al administrative duties around the recruitment process which includes filing and making p Personnel files, vetting calls, chasing candidates and supporting candidates on the candidate journey including on boarding.
  • Book rooms, sundry items, etc. for any ongoing recruitment activities which will include making up recruitment day parks, interview question packs, etc.
  • Any other duty relevant to the position and grade
  • Lead on all the internal recruitment expression of interest with HR and managers

  • Ability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook Email & Calendar.
  • Experience of handling large scale recruitment  activities.
