Job Introduction:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Lead for our DWP contract within Fire & Security.

Reporting into the UK Operations Manager, this position holds responsibility for delivery of both customer installations and service support for G4S Fire & Security Systems with DWP. The successful applicant will be responsible for the achievement of revenue, margin and service targets simultaneously ensuring account costs remain viable and within budget.  Particular focus will be required on Health and Safety.

Working and being the main lead of G4S Fire & Security Systems DWP delivery team the position provides leadership and overview of the installation, service and administration teams.

Role Responsibility:

This position holds responsibility for the delivery of new installations and service delivery to the DWP estate and will work in conjunction with the wider G4S personal, ensuring contract and KPI performance is upheld.

  • Maintaining and further promoting customer retention and growth by cultivating high levels of motivation, commitment and performance by all team members.
  • Be the main point of contact for the DWP contract.
  • Ensuring a consistency of installation and service delivery on the account is adopted.
  • In conjunction with G4S Health & Safety Manager and Engineering Team, ensure a safe and secure working environment at all times for our own employees and those of our customer’s
  • Maintaining policies and procedures ensuring it aligns with DWP policy framework and requirements.
  • Maintaining and ensuring all permits, policy documents and H&S documentation are completed in a timely manner to the customers’ requirements and does not delay or hold up works.
  • Establishing meaningful personal relationships with key customer’s contacts.
  • Ensuring approved sub-contractors and suppliers are performance/compliance monitored in order to deliver to the necessary contract KPIs.
  • Preparing and collating detailed reports in line with company standards, the customers and Operations Director’s requirements. Attendance and participation at in all client site meetings as the G4S System Security lead person for account.  G4S Management Meetings as required by the Operations Director.
  • Act in professional manner at all times with complete integrity, compliance with UK legislation and G4S ethical values to maintain brand reputation.
  • On occasions issues may arise outside normal areas of responsibility for which the Project Lead may be asked to assist.
  • Providing support and guidance to our sales team for any installation/service related matters that may arise concerning key new business opportunities.  
  • Establishing performance goals for all members of each team and monitor performance on a continual basis 
  • Preparing, developing and presenting key presentations to knowledgeable audiences

The Ideal Candidate:

Essential Requirements

  • High degree of numeracy and verbal skills. 
  • Given the management input required of the position, it is essential for the successful candidate willing to travel to various locations.
  • Operations experience at a senior level within a UK operations environment delivering installation and service of Electronic Security Systems – Intruder Alarms, Access Control, CCTV and Integrated Security Management Systems and Life Safety Systems.
  • Operations experience at a senior level within a UK operations environment delivering installation and service of Fire Safety Systems.
  • Delivery of Electronic Security or IT projects
  • Excellent IT understanding with day to day working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint).
  • First class verbal and written communications skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Confident, assertive and professional. Smart appearance, business dress code, pleasing disposition, assertive and confident.
  • Demands of the position dictate flexibility in time management in order to meet objectives.  The position involves travel as required.
  • 5 years checkable work history
  • Unrestricted right to work in the UK/EU
  • Fluent written and spoken English

Preference will be given to candidates who also meet the following:

Ideal Requirements

  • Have a degree or equivalent qualification or alternatively high attainment levels at A level or B’Tec, HND, (Electrical/Electronic/ Communications/IT)
  • Ideally experienced within the C- Cure software / electronic security systems sector. However candidates having fire systems or building management systems background will also be considered.
  • Experience of managing a 24/7 operation mission critical environment
  • Previous experience of working in highly regulated environment
