Job Introduction:

As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible to lead and mentor a team of Officers and Supervisors in protective services and emergency response. The Operations Manager will ensure prompt response to calls for assistance, manage crisis or emergencies, operate as the Incident Commander, interact positively, and promote a safe work environment. The Operations Manager will be responsible for security operations, including but not limited to coordination of local response units, mitigation of risk during emergency events, supporting disaster preparedness/communications, coordinating safe resolutions to hostile terminations, as well as supporting security technology upgrades, fixes, and problem shooting.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Provide supervision to account (e.g., oversee customer relations, ensure post orders are updated regularly, and review disciplinary actions for consistency and propriety)
  • Ensure Officers and Supervisors have the correct training and tools to complete their mission
  • Ensure that contract-required training and screening elements for security personnel have been met; quality assurance and contract compliance
  • Project management; implement standard security operations and ensure compliance through quarterly visits
  • Work closely with client and other vendors to ensure consistent and coordinated service delivery
  • Ensure rapid and safe response to all medical, fire, security, emergencies, and incidents; and ensure a comprehensive report is written documenting all aspects of the incident
  • Manage employee, guest, and visitor comments and complaints with one-touch service
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement and efficiencies through best practices; implement such to improve services and cost to our client
  • Ensure all building utility/service issues are reported as observed and instructed to facilities
  • Advise and mentor other G4S personnel serving client under existing work orders
  • Participate in training of officers in business development; train and supervise others using easy-to-understand concepts and hands on experience; instill self-confidence and self-esteem in others
  • Interpret and administer programs and procedures for the organization in accordance with approved company policies
  • Act as the Incident Commander during an incident or emergency response until relieved by higher authority

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Criminal Justice or related field
  • Must posses a current and valid California Driver's License
  • Pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing
  • Must possess a current and valid Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) Security Officer License issued by the State of California

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Prior security experience in a technology campus environment
  • A minimum of six (6) years progressive progressive experience in at least one of the following:
    • Security
    • Law enforcement
    • Military
    • Public Safety
    • Fire
    • Emergency Management Systems

Skills Required

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail

Other

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must be able to be on call 24/7 for emergencies and incidents
  • Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment).
  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment: Office; minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures is expected.

Major activity: Working on PC while sitting; telephone use

Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Limited, to include some standing, bending, and limited stretching and reaching.
