Package Description: Remuneration and benefits will be commensurate with the seniority of the role and in compliance with company remuneration policy and practice. 

Job Introduction:

Main Purpose of Position:

To implement and manage all training and development solutions in accordance with legislative and regulatory requirements to meet business and customer needs.

Role Responsibility:

1. Develop and maintain curriculum framework and learning programmes for operational training

  • Strategy is aligned and signed off by the HR director as supporting the achievement of corporate objectives
  • Strategy/policy is benchmarked against best practices in industry
  • Strategy complies to SETA /Skills Development legislation, PSIRA regulations and supports BBBEE scorecard
  • Learning designed to develop the core competencies
  • Assessment and moderation activities linked to learning
  • Management and sourcing of training material and courses via external providers and internal

2. Organisational planning and Key Staff & Human Resources Management

  • Monitor implementation and use feedback to update content and framework
  • Monitor ongoing Operational Training interventions
  • Effectiveness of the training is measured and evaluated in accordance with the objectives set. 
  • Equality/diversity profile evaluated of those receiving training and development  via WSP  Reports
  • Ensure course/intervention details captured on the learner management systems
  • Quality assurance of learning material content
  • Results of internal training  measured through certification of learners vs learners enrolled 
  • Ensuring staff adherence to company policies and procedures;
  • New staff selection and orientation;
  • Staff motivation and alignment towards departmental and overall company vision, mission, values and objectives;
  • Ensuring the safety of all responsible staff;
  • Staff evaluation and training;
  • Staff work scheduling;
  • Leading departmental staff meetings;
  • Prosecuting and chairing disciplinary enquiries;
  • Ensuring updated job descriptions and SOP’s (QMS) are in place.

3. Manage the training administration and budget/expenses

  • Check, analyse and explain major variances to budget on a monthly basis
  • Ensure that expense mandates follow audit procedures
  • Prepare annual input on estimated management development for business units
  • Organise and control processes surrounding the study procedures

The Ideal Candidate:

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of curriculum and learning programme design
  • Knowledge of the PSIRA training regulations and requirements
  • Knowledge of Skills Development, EE ,  LRA and SAQA legislation
  • Knowledge of training facilitation, evaluation and moderation

Minimum qualification & experience

  • Relevant Human Resources/ Training degree or diploma or equivalent
  • Relevant experience in a Training role as outlined on the profile  (5 to 8 year experience as a guideline)
  • Qualified Trainer | Moderator and Assessor
