Job Introduction:

Vacancy: Cost Accountant

G4S Secure Solutions (SA), a leading global integrated security solutions company, has a vacancy for a Cost Accountant based in Pretoria.

Reporting to the Financial Manager, the Cost Accountant is mainly responsible for the review and analysis of labour costs from actual operational trading and for calculating costing for tenders and national quotes.

The successful incumbent is a self-starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and is able to exercise sound judgement in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation, and understanding the role which finance plays within a successful business unit. The incumbent will be expected to be results driven and to live the values of the organisation.

Role Responsibility:

Analysing wages, cost lines and overtime

  • Conduct monthly reviews of wage cost
  • Analyse cost trends and submit proposals around cost control
  • Analyse and verify actual results for variances to previous reporting periods, or to identify inaccuracies
  • Report on all discrepancies

Updating of wage models and monthly sales prices

  • Prepare Monthly sales prices and communicate to sales teams
  • Updating and maintaining wage models with SD increases

Prepare quotes for national tenders and assist regional sales teams with quotes

  • Act as a liaison between the national bid manager and FM’s
  • Investigate potential cost saving initiatives to reduce tender pricing
  • Provide feedback to sales director and sales team

Assist with budgets and forecasts

  • Compare budgeted/forecasted results to actual or expected results in order to identify inaccuracies. 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Applicable/relevant teritiary financial qualification
  • Qualified CA (SA) would be highly advantageous
  • 2 to 5 Years management accounting experience would be deemed suitable for this position
