CCTV Operator requires a trained, competent and skilled individual who performs security tasks, ensuring conformance to national compliance standards and both customer and company requirements.

Based out of the NCC Control Room in Nottingham, each operative will form part of a team that provides:


  • Monitoring of the Closed Circuit TV system in and around Nottingham, which covers both residential and public space areas.
  • A mobile patrol and response element which will ensure that any incidents are dealt with or responded to as required.

Role Responsibility:

Main Duties


  • To operate the CCTV systems within the required guidelines and as lay out in the site Assignment Instructions and Procedural Manual.
  • To undertake high profile patrols of designated buildings and to respond to any incidents as directed and requested and as set out in the site Assignment Instructions and Procedural Manual.
  • To promote a professional image as a representative of NCC, in a caring and sympathetic manner.
  • To promote good community relations with residents, tenants and other service recipients.
  • To promote excellent relationships with all NCC partners, including the Police, Emergency Services, and Service Engineers.
  • To perform all duties, whether in the Control Room or as Mobile Patrol, within the set guidelines and to protect the integrity of the service and any legal or NCC/G4S code of practice.
  • To respond to all incidents in a professional and appropriate manner.
  • To conduct all paperwork (such as incident reports and mobile patrol task sheets and log book) in a diligent and accurate manner, with all incidents being escalated, as appropriate, to the shift supervisor.
  • Respond to sites for fire/intruder alarm activation, patrolling and locking/unlocking.


Other responsibilities


  • Ensure that all Health & Safety guidelines are adhered to, including the wearing of any Personal Protective Equipment as supplied.
  • Ensure that the Control Room facilities are clean and tidy at all times and that you take adequate breaks away from your duties after supervisor’s authorization.
  • Ensue that you perform Darlex and camera check on each shift basis.
  • Understands out of hour’s stray dog acceptance service.
  • Dealing Nimbus Alarm System.
  • Dealing with lone working system
  • Dealing with Patriot system
  • Understands ST4 mobile (pop phone) procedure.
  • Aware of 20 minutes response time while performing mobile patrol duties
  • Understands have to book on and off while on x shift duties.
  • For all above mentioned duties, full training will be provided.  
  • CCTV control room operator and response officer.

Knowledge and skills required


  • Self motivation and the will to deliver an excellent service.
  • Excellent team member and willingness to work within a team environment.
  • The ability to communicate effectively, including a good phone manner.
  • Confidence and presence, including the willingness to challenge misbehaviours as appropriate and either face to face or through PA speakers and talking CCTV.
  • The ability to remain calm and deal with pressure situations.
  • A flexible approach to working life, in accordance with the needs of the business.
  • A reasonable level of competence of written language for completion of incident reports and other paperwork.
  • Good concentration skills with an attention to detail.
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and share workload with colleagues, dependant upon real time requirements.
  • Full UK driving licence.
