This position description assumes that the individual has satisfied all basic requirements for employment by G4S Secure Solutions (Canada) Ltd., including: obtaining a vulnerable sector criminal police check, background check. Role Responsibility:

Key Objectives:

  • To enforce parking regulations for the City of Winnipeg using sound judgment and keen observation skills

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Enforce parking control in designated areas (Winnipeg Parking Meter By-law, Traffic By-law, Streets By- law Manitoba Fire Code and adopted by the Fire (fire lanes) By-Law, Disabled Persons Parking By-law. 
  • Prevent Parking By-law, Winter Parking Ban By-law, Provisions in other By-laws respecting the parking, standing or stopping of vehicles).
  • Patrol assigned routes and surface lots, issue citations to illegally parked cars and rotating through all mobile enforcement areas, daily.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge on any lifting of restrictions, selective enforcement requests, street works, special events, filming permits, signage changes (temporary or permanent) and other matters effecting the parking regulations in the assigned areas, daily.
  • Complete incident reports, daily.
  • Ensure a high standard of customer service and respect with every citizen interaction.
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of photos and tickets meet quality assurance standards, daily.
  • Review urban patrol reports, ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements, weekly.
  • Review surface lot and patrol coverage reports, ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements, weekly.
  • Respond to all dispatched patrol requests daily.

 Skills/Knowledge/Qualifications: 

  • Graduated from High School minimum Post Secondary preferred 
  • Must provide current/clear criminal record check (vulnerable sector) obtained with the Winnipeg Police 
  • Service or your local RCMP Detachment
  • Drivers licence and abstract for mobile position
  • 1st Aid w/CPR
  • By law experience an asset, but will train
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, frequent bending required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 Position Conditions: 

  • Work is performed outside subject to weather conditions, rain, snow, hail, wind, dust, heat and cold walking on pavement, grass, uneven ground, may have dirty surfaces
