The world's leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for an experienced supervisor with a background in security. As an Area Supervisor 1, you will administer the security contract and ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements. You will also act as the G4S Secure Solutions (USA) Inc. liaison with client, law enforcement agencies, customers, and employees. You will also be responsible for providing management oversight and driving operational accountability through effective change management and leadership development processes.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Provide supervision to Site Supervisors, and security officers with no on-site supervision, on a 24-hour basis
  • Ensure that contract-required training and screening elements for security personnel have been met
  • Maintain overtime to a preset requirement designated by G4S USA
  • Ensure quality of service and contract compliance by regularly inspecting and auditing each facility assigned to his/her area
  • Evaluate key performance indicators and ensure compliance
  • May provide post coverage at any given time
  • Drop off equipment and uniforms to client sites
  • Pick up and drop off vehicles
  • Be open to additional and/or other assigned duties

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to pass any state-required training or other qualifications for licensing
  • Must possess a current and valid Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) Security Officer License issued by the State of California
  • Must be able to pass a State licensing test if driving a company-owned or client-provided vehicle

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory work experience in a security related field
  • Must have one or more of the following:
    • Law enforcement experience (military police or civilian law enforcement)
    • Service in elite military forces (e.g. Navy SEALS, Delta Force, etc.) or combat arms
    • Graduate of police academy
    • Criminal Justice degree, Associates or higher
    • Career military

Other

  • Must be at least 21 years old or the minimum age required by state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment).
  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment: Indoor and outdoor; minimal work in extreme temperatures is expected

Major activity: Working on PC while sitting; telephone use; driving; standing; walking; listening; speaking

Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Limited, to include some standing, bending, light lifting, and limited stretching and reaching
