Maurice Bass, Area Supervisor, Sacramento, California
Maurice is from Sacramento, California, and has a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Kaplan University. He started with G4S in 2007 as a Traditional Security Officer. His flexible schedule allowed him to rotate through different client sites and learn about their different security needs.
He became a Custom Protection Officer in 2008 when he was only 19 years old. Maurice had an opportunity to go to Houston, Texas, to offer support to the victims of Hurricane Ike. As part of the relief team, Maurice had an opportunity to work with other G4S employees from all over the country and get a better idea of the large scope of G4S’ organization.
Back in Sacramento, Maurice had an opportunity to rotate throughout different sites and fill supervisory roles when needed. He had an opportunity to work for the public transit account where he has involved in helping the Sacramento Police Department to identify and deter drug trafficking activities in his area.
Maurice was promoted to Area Supervisor in 2011, and is in charge of all clients in the Sacramento area. His duties include a lot of administrative work, including payroll and scheduling for all officers in the area. Maurice likes to stay in touch with his fellow officers and is in constant contact with all officers in the area to make sure they have the resources they need to do their jobs.
“I love working for G4S because it’s the world largest security provider. We are very organized and have the best resources, ” Maurice said. He has seen firsthand the amazing changes a career with G4S can bring to someone in need. “I love to help people, whether it’s a client or someone who needs a job,” he added.
Maurice would like to continue learning new things and new technologies related to the security industry and continue to advance his career with G4S.
